What Lies Beneath by GSJennsen What Lies Beneath by GSJennsen
From Mass Effect 3 Leviathan DLC.

I've said it before, I'll say it again - the style, beauty and variety of environments in Leviathan was truly impressive. Well done, Bioware.

This place was crazy, and that was before the big reveal :)

Full disclosure, this scene did not look like this in the game for me (even though I am running image enhancing software and a number of TexMods). This one took quite a lot of editing to create the mood and atmosphere that Bioware is doing an admirable job of aiming for, if not quite reaching just yet :)

Interestingly, by the way, the planet appears as such - something like our Earth after the Flood, and the city of Bioshock

Yeah, Bioware definitely took inspiration from other sources for this setting. But they executed on it quite well.

Agreed. Leviathan was hands down THE best multi-mission-quest in the whole ME franchise and also THE best DLC. Now only if Bioware would always be that good. ^^

Heh, indeed. I'm not sure that it was better than Shadow Broker, but it was definitely AS GOOD as Shadow Broker. I also greatly enjoy Bring Down the Sky for ME1, though it obviously lacks the sophistication of later DLCs. But I have to say, I wasn't sure what to expect going into Leviathan, and I wasn't entirely sure they would be able to deliver. But they really, really did, in spades.

Shadow-Broker can keep up with the locations and their presentation and details, but there are two things where it gets beaten:

- the pure scope of the revelation
- the puzzling in the lab

I really enjoyed finding all the details, snooping around that lab. :)

And Shadow-Broker had no such thing. Well okay, Liaras apartment (I loved the whole atmosphere there, the rain, the half-broken window, the details), but it's not quite the same.

Well, let's make a compromise: They're equals. :)

I LOVED Liara's apartment - loved as in "Can I live there in real life?". Would probably box up some of the larger Prothean artifacts, though ;).

Yes, I think "equal" is an agreeable compromise - and we can just be glad that they both exist :D

I liked the atmosphere it had. The motley crew of wreckage spanning from earlier models of spaceships in a variety of size and state of decay. I felt as though this place was the Bermuda Triangle of planets, a place where time seem to have no meaning. You did a lovely job in capturing that feeling!

"Bermuda Triangle of planets" is an excellent way to put it :). They really did an excellent job conveying atmosphere, especially at this location. Thanks!

I really like how in both locations there are ships old and new strewn about, all with a story to tell and nobody to speak for them. Eerie, but also beautiful.
